The season so far

2/3 RACE WINS

2/3 PODIUM FINISHES

2/3 POLE POSITIONS

The Full Story

After an incredibly successful 2024 season, Toby would make the step up into the highly competitive GT4 class in a Porsche Cayman GT4 RS , joining forces with W&S Motorsport, one of the most successful GT4 teams at the Nürburgring and Europe.

With a very strong driver lineup, and backing from AVIA international, the team would enter the 2025 racing season with a great package, and sights set on the class championship.

After the summer break, the team were back and began the long second half of the championship. With each round now being a single race, the team would have 4 more races, stretched out from August to November, to complete.

Unfortunately, luck did not follow them on their return, and they suffered a mechanical failure at the beginning stages of the next race, forcing them to retire.

" It's a tough pill to swallow, but unfortunately part of the game. An unfortunate way to come back after the break, but we will put it behind us as a team and focus on the races to come."

With a brand-new car, team, teammates and fierce competition to go up against, Toby would have a lot to learn in a short space of time. The weekend kicked off well, with plenty of running in free practice to get to grips with the new machinery, and right away both Toby and his teammates were at the top of the time sheets.

This speed would carry forward into the first competitive session of the year, qualifying, where Toby’s teammate, Moritz, would put in a new lap record to secure the teams spot on the front row going into the race.

A wet, but drying track would be the setting for the first race of the season, and as the sun shone down on a damp turn one, the green flag was waved, and the 2025 season was underway. A fantastic starting stint from Toby’s teammate built them a margin of multiple seconds to the car in second place, and as Toby climbed aboard the number 165 Porsche cayman for his stint, they would be leading the race. After a solid first stint for Toby, and an equally fast final stint for his teammate Phillip, the crew would cross the finish line P1 in the Pro class, and 2nd overall out of all GT4’s.

‘Really couldn’t have asked for a better first round. There was a lot to learn with the new car, and still some steps forward to make, but with each session I’m getting more and more comfortable. The team have done an amazing job this weekend, as have my teammates. I think its solidified our expectations that we have a really great package to build upon for the rest of the season.’

The team would now require a win in the final two races of the year to remain in contention for the championship. As the end of the season closed in, the warm and sunny races of the summer grew further away, and a wet and cold Nürburgring now greeted the team as they turned up for the penultimate round, now back in the 240i cup car.

Well aware of the importance of these races, but also of the unforgiving and extremely challenging conditions, the trio would need to be on their A game to ensure a good finish, and remain in the fight.

Fortunately, they delivered under the pressure, and secured a win in challenging and changebale conditons.

"That must have been one of the toughest races of my career. The track was so slippy, and any small misjudgement could have put an end to our championship hopes and all the hard work this year. My teammates both did a mega job and I'm very proud of our performance this weekend."

And so, the stage was set for the final round of the championship. Just two cars remained in the championship fight, one being the Adrenalin Motorsport 240i crew, and the other, a Porshe GT4 competing in the Cup 3 class.

The weekend got off to a rocky start, with Toby's teammate Ranko suffering an ABS failure in both free practice and qualifying, narrowly escaping a severe crash which would have likely put an end to the race weekend.

The trio had a lot of work to do in the race, and after a qualifying spent in the pit box with repairs, they lined up P5, a long way from the P1 and race win they required. After a good start, the team were positioned P2 with 2 hours to go, Toby being the driver to complete the remainder of the race and chase the class lead down.

In the final hour, the move was made, and the team now found themselves leading the class. Shortly after, the Porshe in the championship fight suffered a mechanical failure, and was forced to retire. It was now the team's championship to lose, but with an hour to go, there was still no margin for error.

Under immense pressure, Toby brought the car home P1 in class, and was crowned champions of the NLS series 2024 along with his teammates Sven Markert and Ranko Mijatovic.

He would become the first british driver to win the overall championship, as well as the only driver to have won the championship on their debut season.

The trio were also crowned 240i Cup class champions, and Toby the NLS series Junior champion.
